How It All Started

In the summer of 2003, a group of caring citizens in Boston decided they were fed up with the commerical nature of holiday season. With the help of The Center for a New American Dream, we created an alternative to all the holiday madness. Now in our fifth year, we're making a difference in what this special time means to us, and we hope that you'll join us in taking back our holiday season!

2006 The Growth of Gift It Up!

Last year, we raised over $9,000 for our 14 participating non-profits! This year, our goal is to break $10,000 and we need your support to do that. Please come to Gift It Up! or participate virtually via our web-donation option.

2005 It's Catching On!

We raised over $7,000 for our 14 participating non-profits! We experienced a large growth in the number of people interested in attending the event.

2004 Building a Movement

We raised $3,000 for our 10 participating organizations and began to have a waiting-list of organizations wanting to participate.  There was excitement in the air as we realized that there was enthusiasm for the concept!

2003 Stormy Success

Despite the biggest snowstorm of the year, Gift It Up! Boston's Alternative Gift Fair began with a bang and raised over $1,000 for our nine participating groups. Thanks to everyone who trudged through the snow to join our festivities!
